History

of Macrame

The word Macrame originates from the Arabic word Mikrama, which means 'ornamental fringe'.

During the 19th century, the art of knotting was practiced by maritime sailors to pass their time. They eventually sold their pieces at the ports where they docked.

One of the first European countries to adopt Macrame was England where Victorian homes were adorned with Macrame curtains, tablecloths, and even clothing.

About My Accessories

I spend a lot of time in exotic markets where the colours and materials are uniquely attractive.

I mostly use premium components such as Linhazita thread - fade-resistant, soft yet durable. It's perfect for intricate knots that age well. Your accessory will keep its colour, shape and feel year after year..

I find that stainless steel hooks are tarnish-resistant, hypoallergenic, and lightweight. They are ideal for sensitive ears and active lifestyles. I'm always open to suggestions and recommendations !

About

I am from Recife, in the north of Brasil. The land nourished by the blues of the seas, the rains of the Amazon, and the continuous warmth of the sun.

We do not know the cold and it is here that our hearts were created.

We are full of warm emotions, spirituality and love of life.

Every piece is made with my hands.

They are silently guided by that specific feeling during a specific moment, be it a few days, or a season. Each of them is a story.
